What you are paying for in search promotion

The four payment models on this market and the place where each one breaks. You can put these questions to any contractor — not only to us.

Outcome

What stays with you afterwards

A breakdown of the four models

By positions — breaks when the contractor picks the keywords: what gets to the top is what is easier, not what sells. By traffic — breaks when the number of visitors grows and the number of enquiries does not. By enquiries — breaks on the argument about whose enquiry it was and whether it was real. By scope of work — breaks when the work goes on and nobody checks what for.

Questions for the contractor

Who picks the keywords and can they be changed. What counts as the result and how it is measured. What stays with you if you part ways. Who pays for third-party services and whose accounts everything lives in.

How we count

We fix the scope of work and show what was done as a list with page addresses, and beside it the movement in the numbers you can check yourself. Positions we show as an observation, not as an obligation: we cannot steer somebody else’s algorithm.

Who it fits

When people come to us with this

This page is for two conversations.

You are choosing a contractor

The offers look alike, the figures differ, and it is unclear what to compare. What to compare is not the sum but what is written down as the result.

You have paid before and never understood what for

Reports arrived, money went out, and nobody can say what changed. That means the result was never named in a checkable way.

How the work goes

A clear order, no surprises

1 · A conversation

Half an hour about your business: who buys, what they ask before buying, where they come from today. Without this the demand study turns into a list of words.

2 · The study

We look at what your customers search for and what your site offers that demand. You get the picture and an order of work: what comes first, what comes second and why.

3 · The work and the report

We work through the order and every month show what was done and what moved in the numbers. Not "work is in progress" but a list with page addresses.

The figure is named in a quote for your task, once it is clear what state the site is in, how many pages it has and what was done before us. There is no price list here on purpose: in search work an "average price" means averaged work, and you pay for yours.

Straight talk

What we do ourselves and what we do with partners

We do this ourselves

The market study this page grew from we do by machine from live data: contractors’ sites are taken apart along identical axes, not "by eye".

We keep our own report in exactly the shape we recommend here: a list of what was done with addresses and a checkable movement in the numbers.

We build this out for you

End-to-end analytics down to the deal and the money — the core exists; the link to your accounting system we build out for the task and name the timing before we start.

Where a partner does the work, we stay your single point of contact: we pick the contractor, set the task, watch the timing and answer to you for the result. The contract names the contractor honestly — no "we do everything in-house".

Questions

What people usually ask

Why do you not work for positions?
Because a position is not assigned by the contractor. Payment by position pushes towards easier keywords, and the client ends up at the top of the results for words nobody searches for.
What about enquiries?
Enquiries are an honest unit, and in advertising that is how we count. In search the timing gets in the way: months pass between the work and the enquiry, and the argument about whose enquiry it was becomes the main content of the relationship.
What if there is no result?
Then it shows in the same list and the same numbers, and the conversation is about work rather than feelings. We do not take on a task we cannot see the sense of in advance, and we say so before any contract.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Because the price depends on the state of the site and the volume of demand, and an "average price" means averaged work. We name the quote after the diagnostic.
Enquiry

Let us look at your task

Tell us about the site and the business — what customers come with and what you want to change. We answer during working hours and say where it is honest to start in your case.

We call back during working hours. The company field is optional — if you fill it in, we look up the public records beforehand and come to the conversation prepared.
